by C. Budd
Cartoon
1912

This cartoon depicts third-party presidential candidate Theodore Roosevelt as a clown standing on a soapbox with a drum (labeled THIRD PARTY) and a megaphone. His circus tent is labelled "BULL MOOSE," which was the popular name for Roosevelt's Progressive Party. On the sign beneath the moose skull, Roosevelt's campaign is called "THE LITTLEST SHOW ON EARTH." Beneath that, the sign reads, "ALL TICKETS GOOD ANY TIME."
